I Am Safe

14”x11” print of a reflection I made post-election. Sometimes the only place I feel safe is with the people who love me. It’s not the walls around me or the neighborhood I’m in, it’s the partner I chose, the siblings who have loved me my whole life, the friends who hold me when I weep. I’m safe in the home I have built because the home I built is made of love and dignity.
